save transfer?
« on: July 07, 2009, 02:31:02 pm »

So, now that I've downloaded the new OpenGL, how do I get my old saves from a different file onto that one? I'm just not sure what file their in, otherwise I'm sure i could do it myself. So, any help would be appreciated. Hopefully this is the last thing of help I need.

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

You want an entire 'regionX' folder from df\data\saves (or a path very similar to that).

If it has the same name as another region in your target, just rename it--it doesn't even have to stay 'regionX', it can be "My world of awesomeness".

If you've made any modifications to the raws, you'll also need to copy those changes over to the new one.

It is a good idea to rename your folders if you have multiple worlds going, easier to recognise say "elfslay" than "REGION_2" (of 6).
