Gen Skill Rankings
« on: September 19, 2008, 01:41:57 am »

Like the Subject says, Gen Skill Rankings.  So you know which skills your dwarves are best at at a glance, rather than a scroll.  Hopefully this can exclude the conversation skills, but c'est la vie.

On the item is an exceptionally designed image of a diamond in yellow diamond.

Yeah, it would be cool if dwarf skills were arranged from top to bottom by level. With legendary being on top and novice on the bottom. The only exception to this would be noble skills, which would be placed on the very bottom of the stack.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Or a basic sorting switch. Best skill, oldest skill, embark screen order and so forth.

i thought that's why many of the dwarfs are color coded? anyways this seems like one of those things that are already planned but is too menial or tedious to implement sooner rather than later...

Some of the color codings are nearly useless, though. A furnace operator is the same color as a weaponsmith, and mason is the same color as an engraver, and the brown farmer color covers everything from planting to woodburning.

I'd like the skills to be sorted in tabs. Labor, Social, Combat. Especially useful if we'll be getting a whole slew of new stats

This has been suggested before, but yes, it'd be nice to have.
