Dwarf Fortress on Mac
« on: June 26, 2009, 03:36:35 am »

Hey guys, I just started playing Dwarf Fortress on my MacBook and I haven't even gotten through setting up my first fortress. I can't work out how to put skills on my dwarves. It says "+-:Add" but neither + nor - nor a combination of both seems to work. I have the same problem with selling items.

Can anybody help?

I think the easiest work around for this is pressing 'esc' and going into key bindings and changing what the +- is to some other key, as on the first setting it is the +- on the numpad of a keyboard, that many laptops don't have or assign to an fn+key function. It's there on a mac desktop keyboard but I can't remember under what keys on a macbook.

Hope that helps.

It is a total pain in the butt, but you gotta do what you gotta do if you want that upright candy weapon.

I play on a macbook pro.

Use the Fn key to use the numeric keypad that's on top of the normal keyboard.

fn+; = "-"
fn+/ = "+"
