Adjectivize the no-adjective skill level
« on: June 25, 2009, 05:24:45 pm »

EDIT: this is clearly in the wrong forum. You should check out this thread instead.

Right now the skill levels go:

Dabbling
Novice
<nothing>
Competent
Skilled
...

The level after Novice is annoying to talk about and potentially confusing for newbies. I suggest changing Novice to Apprentice and making the no-label level Novice, so it'd look like this:

Dabbling
Apprentice
Novice
Competent
Skilled
...

Thus there's an adjective for every level, and the relative lack of ability inherent in that level of skill is properly conveyed.

Methinks you've got the wrong forum...

Sometimes, when my Dorfs are exceptionally stupid again, I wonder what exactly the [INTELLIGENT]-tag does.

I think "Journeyman" would be more accurate. Might be a more modern word than desired, though.

110% support (but you ~should~ move this to the suggestion thread).

(As the OP, you can lock it - just modify the first post, and use the "additional options" option.)
