Legendary dining room
« on: June 24, 2009, 12:52:46 am »

As the years go by, it seems that the dwarfs get harder to impress despite their ADHD.

I have a fairly huge dining room (14x44) that's smoothed, covered with masterpiece engravings (well, not every single one, but a lot) and lined with statues- I'm talking about utter tastelessness here, every tile next to the wall has a statue- and it's still only royal! What more can I do besides plonking a few artifacts in there? (I don't have many 'buildable' artifacts. My dwarfs keep on making instruments and toys and carp like that. The few buildable ones I use for my nobles*.)

*Because happy nobles make less mandates, apparently.

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then you kill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.

Er, royal is legendary. See the wiki. Dwarves will refer to the room as "legendary" in their thoughts if they liked it enough; however, this depends heavily on the dwarf's expectations. New migrants tend to be very easy to please, but your civilization leader (King/Queen) will only barely tolerate the Royal rooms they demand.

...Oh.

I could have sworn I saw a 'Legendary Dining Room' under the 'r' menu before.

I think I'm imagining things.

New question! If I were to remove elves [INTELLIGENT] tag in the raws, would it work?
