It was the planet of the giant cave spiders...
« on: June 09, 2009, 06:38:14 pm »

I had found a potentially cool map in my quest for a new start yesterday.  Bottomless pit and lava pipe, with plenty of trees and farmable land!  So I start digging my happy new dwarf home.

Message: stray dog has been struck down by a giant cave spider!

Ok, so the stupid dog wandered off.

Horse has been struck down!
Trader has been struck down!
Miner 1 has been struck down!

!!!

So at my wagon there was a massacre.  It was like my innocent dwarves tried to colonize a bug planet and it was made a reality show.

Does anyone else have similar stories?   ::)

Granted, this was with the Legendary Lands mod.

Funnily enough my gen of that map didn't have any spiders at the top, but I did have... 5/6 Giant Shadow Spiders, 5 Giant Cave Spiders, 5/6 Large Cave Spiders, and probably one or two more GCS that I haven't found yet.
I'm scared, very scared.
What's worse, I keep running out of silk to collect because my dwarves like to run in there to grab refuse. haha
