You get a pretty nice fire in fortress mode.
I guess it's the crappy fire physics in adventure mode that are the problem.

Still no luck with the fixed temp tag. Also, I'm just wanting that adventurer of mine to go out spectacularly.

Flaming guts stuck to the wall are a bonus.

Depending on my mood, I occassionally turn up elves' homeotherm to 20 000. As soon as they enter the map, BOOM, they burn to death leaving me with whatever items are not on fire.

No.
Adventure mode's timescale is much slower than fortress mode.
Go to sleep with a fire burning and you'll see that it works entirely the same.
