Well, If you up the minimum volcano and minimum mountain peeks, you should get a world with more magma (from the volcanoes) and HFS (every mountain tile has it).

There is exactly one HFS 'tile' per mountain region square. High elevation means mountains.
A volcano appears anywhere where Volcanism is 100. Presumably underground magma appears where there is also high Volcanism. Volcanism also causes a lot of igneous rock. I would guess from this that low Volcanism means sedimentary layers, which are more valuable in terms of ores, coal and flux. High contrast is presumably most useful in this regard, so a high variance of Volcanism is best to get regions with sedimentary layers near magma.
I believe there is a setting for river start points? You can increase that for more water sources. I'm not sure how to effect underground rivers.
Low rain and low drainage cause sand deserts. High rain and low drainage causes aquifers. High rain and high drainage causes forests, I think. Low rain and high drainage is badlands. I suppose from that medium of both is plains.
I don't know if there's anyway to influence the number of chasms and bottomless pits, though.

Chasms and bottomless pits, like HFS, also occur exactly once per mountain region tile.

Also, be sure to turn all the underground features to ALWAYS in the init, if you haven't already done so, so you can see where they are before you embark.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

You are indeed right. Some investigation shows every mountain region to have one HFS, one chasm, one pit, one underground river and one underground pond. Additionally, volcanic regions (mountain or lowland) appear to have one pipe and one pool.
With enough mountain regions I imagine you could drastically increase your chances of getting everything in a small area. Of course, you'll need it mixed in with plenty of non-mountain region for that to be any useful to you. I suppose high elevation variance is key here.
