Actually,
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
...so though he certainly does fear and is impeded by the sun, it does not turn him to dust.

Regardless of whether having vampires in the game is desireable or not, I think it's reasonable to suggest that there's a great deal of potential coolness-factor in having the option of creatures that burst into flame, or are otherwise harmed, by sunlight.

For that matter, giving moonlight healing powers (which occurred in both 'The Vampire' circa 1819, and 'Varney the Vampire' circa 1947, both vampire stories which preceeded 'Dracula' by 50 years or more,) is also an option.

50 years or more...? Ah, Varney the Vampire's date has a typo in it.

mareck as been warned for being abusive.  There is no excuse for that.  We try to welcome suggestions here, so if you disagree, be constructive about it.

The Nightwing seems to fill this role pretty well already.

Check em out a bit more. They are closer to a Manticor in design and live in the desert.

Honestly... I think that vampires would be cool, and it would fit in with the DF universe. However... if we made them, maybe instead of being inhibited by sunlight, make them not like it, and give them sickness like it does dwarves, and then make them strong enough so that they are like a goblin to a kobold to their parent race. And then you could put them in evil biomes. But do you ever see dwarven or elven zombies?

p.s.
Perhaps make them more succeptable to fire once we get some explosives and ignitives in DF.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

At least have them weakened by Sunlight.

For example the curse could give them incredable strength that turns to mud in the sunlight.

i would just like them to BURN!
i really really really really really HATE vamps.

but yeah.
some people still like them....
I made a stupid little mod for a friend. (still in testing.)
He will soon have random vamps (listed as monsters) in his world.
Sadly i cant kill them by sunlight... yet.
But at least i have a tile.
