It says quite a bit about the effectiveness of a sword when you find yourself bludgeoning people to death with it.

"The damage should be bludgeon"

It depends if we are using Kingdom Hearts Keyblade (which actually did feature a few Keyblades that did have legit edges) or simply an Ornamental Sword in the shape of a key.

I wouldn't mind using an oversized key to bludgeon anthropomorphic mice to death.

Bludgeoning to death with a sword might actually happen in the next version, if you can't get through their armor.

Technically, nearly any sword is capable of bludgeoning someone.  There's atleast two flat sides, and single-edged swords can use the unsharped edge of the blade as a bludgeon.  This isn't the best way to deliver the most lethal force the weapon is capable of, but maybe an option to 'stun' opponents can be added to military if you have the intention of keeping prisoners.

Yeah, swords in this next version do have this ability, although it's not clear how much you can actually use it.

All it needs now is more realistic attacks like stings (with pierce damage) for attack with swords (or sabers which my elves got)  as addition to the normal damage types. Sometimes i just want to bash out some teeth with the shaft of my Spear/Pike(/moded polearms) or make an cut/slash with its blade.

The weapons all have multiple attack types now, but it's really a baby baby system until the combat arc.  I'm not sure there really be used at all this time around (I just needed a replacement for what was there).  The sword has a thrust/slash/flat blade/pommel whack associated for example, but I don't think it'll do much of anything with AI/interface them, and since items don't currently have parts or multiple materials, there just isn't a lot going on yet.

Come to think of the, the pommel of a sword hilt can be used in a downward thrust to deliver a very pointed but still blunt blow to somewhere.  Not practical in almost all cases since having a sword pointed away from an opponent leaves a fighter ridiculously uncovered in battle.

Heph and bjlong know more about this than I do, but I think they were generally used by armored fighters in a grappling situation, where the blade was being grasped or blocked, or there just wasn't room to draw it back for a stab or slice.
