glass (yet again)
« on: October 21, 2006, 09:04:00 pm »

A way people are making glass today is to float a lump of raw glass over a moving molten river of tin in a facility look up the
Pilkington process

I could imagine dwarfs making a giant Steel Cup next to lava to heat it up and filling it with tin to do such a thing.
it would eventually oxidize but tin is replaceable.

I would love to see those elves smack into a wall of glass.   :D Birds too.

Just because we can do it in modern America doesn't mean the dwarves would or should think of it.  I'd rather use the medieval-style processes like we have now.
