i cant remove my floodgates.  Attempts to do so would end badly, very very badly.

However, as i re-build my fortress, im in a situation where i want to decommision the orginal dining hall where the switch currently is.

It woulding be a huge deal to leave that section of my fort open.  I had planed to convert the area to noble storage, but if i could move the switch it would save me alot of headache.

Ive managed to "safely" gain access to the flood gates from the other side.  Im sure i'll end up loosing some mechanisms, but that's a small price to pay.

Deconstructing levers is perfectly safe. Just rebuild it and hook it back up to the floodgate.

Toady, how much of DF is inspired by Labyrinth? Is Armok actually David Bowie? Because that would simultaneously be disturbing and awesome.
