How about a command in the stocks screen that will let you set all items of a certain type to be chasmed or melted? For example, you might want to say "Chasm all clothing that are: leather AND foreign" or
"Melt all bronze weapons"

A similar option could be applied to the trade depo. ie: bring all silk shoes to depo

This is a real bloat suggestion, but it could make a real tedious part of the game simplier.
