Problem here when starting a new game in DF mode.
I can enter/see the prepare for journey screen.
I have tried an older version (39c) of DF and the text "press space to..." Works fine.
The newest versions 40d,40c,40b... are giving me problems..
Help...

What happens after you press Embark in the problematic versions?

The game starts with the default settings.
I get:
1 miner
1 stoneworker
1 woodcutter
1 woodworker
1 fisherdwarf
1 fish cleaner
1 jeweler
ect..

It's possible that you generated a world in which no dwarves survived, and thus there were no dwarves available to embark with. But the worldgen routine should warn you if this happens. Were you mucking with custom worldgen parameters?

Nope. I used the "creat new world now"
F9 to continue and just picked a place to start.

Did you create a new world in each different version or were you moving one world folder between versions?

Did you do anything like install the new version "on top" of the old version?

I deleted the whole folder.
Downloaded the next version of DF and created a new world.
