Dwarf Reveal (Mod thing) problem...

It works...
Except it reveals about 2 layers, then part of a couple more layers, and then no more below that.

Am I doing something wrong?

You have to designate the entire bottom layer for mining. Thats all. Every "region square" translates to 48x48 dwarffortress tiles.

Just draw a line, on the very bottom z-layer, through every "region" tile.

Then cheat your way to VICTORY!

A bit of clarification:  First you designate at least one square in each 48x48 region on the lowest z-level.  This loads all these 48x48 regions into memory, from the lowest z-level designated up to the highest z-level of the map.  Then you run reveal.  Without doing this, the regions aren't even loaded in memory (technically they aren't even generated yet), and thus can't be revealed.

The easiest way is to simply go to one corner, begin a mining designation, go down to the other, end the designation, then do the same thing in reverse, but removing the designation rather than adding it.  Then run reveal afterward.

This looks like the perfect place to ask a reveal.exe related question of mine that I encountered recently when trying out 40 d11.

Reveal.exe doesn't work on my 40d11.  Are there any settings I have to change, or do I just have to mine it all to find out?

Reveal and its cousin Tweak both need to be updated to work with the 40d# series.  Unfortunately the author hasn't been around recently, and he did not release the source code so no-one else can fix the tools.

You can temporarily move the save folder and raw\objects folder into an install of 40d no suffix, use reveal there, and move them back to 40d11.

I'll plug my own tool here: Stone Sense, which I think hits a nice middle ground between the game's method and revealing the entire map.
