So my problem is that my saves tend to be missing. I save normally when I quit the game [Esc -> save -> quit] and when I come back, the only save that's there is the autosave. This doesn't happen always, but it's really annoying when it does. I'm not using any mods either. I tried searching, but didn't find anything useful. Any way to fix this?

If you load from the autosave, it saves to the autosave.

Solution:  Treat them as backups, not things to play from.  When you want to load from autosave, first nuke your original region, then copy the autosave to the old region1 name or whatever.
