Two types of armor?

Simple question, my champion has both chain mail and plate mail on his upper body, do the affects stack or is he only gaining bonus' from one ?

They stack...and they can wear leather underneath for even more protection :)

beware tho these stacked items take away alot of their speed so its good if theyre strong and high level armor user.

How do you get them to do this? I can get them wearing leather and chain or chain and plate, but never all three at once.

If I set them to wear leather then change to chain, they put the chain on over the top of leather. If I then change them to plate, they always take the leather off and wear just chain + plate.

If I remember right, they can only wear either leather OR plate, but not both at once. Don't quote me on it, but I do remember seeing it somewhere.
