Have you ever looked over your world's early history and noticed a particular character that was just so totally badass they needed to be immortalized in verse? I have, just now, with the human warrior Domi Moppedfords the Contingencies of Light. While I'm not really eloquent enough to make up a ballad for her this late at night, let me just give you an idea about her.
The was born in 42 in a small hovel in the human town of Knitcircles. In 48 she was abducted and imprisoned by the Ruthlessness of Severity In 53 she assimilated into the goblin culture and in 54 became a hunter. A year later she was ambushed by the sasquatch Weatheredconvent, handily beating it and forcing it to flee. That same year she joined The Systemic Faith. In 56 she murdered a dwarf. In 58 she was married and happened to run into Weatheredconvent again, whom she again drove away. In 60 she ambushed and killed a long named Giant Eagle. Unfortunately, that was also the year of the first great conflict between The Orb of Closing (a Dwarven civilization) and The Relieved Lies (Domi's Civ) began. Domi was still just a hunter at the time. The two armies clashed and though both sides lost over a third of their forces, the Dwarves of The Orb of Closing were victorious. Domi's husband was their side's first casualty, and an omen of things to come. In 62 Domi joined in her first battle slaying a dwarf, but losing her fourth toe on her right foot. The battle went poorly for The Relieved Lies and Domi ended up the leader of The Ruthlessness of Severity. Over the next years, Domi continued to fight, becoming a veritable demoness on the battlefield, she shrug off wounds, what few she sustained, and maimed, and slew her enemies in close combat one after another. After a particularly vicious battle she devoured the corpse of the dwarf who had slain one of her allies. She was forced to battle on multiple fronts as the dwarven civilazation called in forces from their other mountain halls to deal with the monstrous goblin-human woman, but all failed. In 66 she met the dwarf who would plague her for years to come, Mestthos Raspbells, newly coronated king of The Orb of Closing. In 69 she became the leader of The Relieved Lies. Queen of a ruined nation. In 72, she finally met with with her nemesis for the fifth and last time. Slaying him in battle. This was not the end of Domi's story though. She continued to fight for many years. By 77 the last of her kingdom was destroyed and she stood alone, yet invincible. The combined might of human and dwarven civilizations had destroyed all she held dear, but she continued to return the favor, time and time again she single handedly repelled their forces. Every time she gained a new ally they were quickly destroyed by those who sought her life, though each time they failed to take it.
For some reason, in 87 after years of conflict, Domi's enemies finally just gave up. They couldn't win. In 135, Domi died of old age. She had 156 notable kills, and 36 others.
