Have you tried dropping magma on salt water yet? It actually evaporates the water and leaves the salt if you add the right amount of magma.

I haven't experimented with salt water too much, apart from watching vine grow freakishly large when exposed to it.

Ants move solids.
They are pretty annoying.
It's fun watching them move c4 to a torch though.
