Does Reveal.exe bug max artifact count?
« on: March 30, 2009, 04:03:40 pm »

I know that Reveal.exe can prevent the discovered magma, chasm, underground river events from happening.  But does it also bug the tiles revealed count for the artifact limit? (the 2308 divider)

Has anyone had any experience with extremely low artifact counts after using reveal?

I usually have  site revealed, take screen caps, the nrevert back to a pre-revealed scum saved of the map... no muss no fuss.

I dug out the river/magma/chasm before using reveal.

Then after five years, I finally thought about this...

I'm wondering if I need to restart this fortress.

If this is indeed the case, I'll have to restart mine, too.

How many years have you been playing?  And how many artifacts?

I know that the process is random, but I've had only 2 artifacts after 5 years, which seems rather low.

From what I remember, the revealed tiles don't end up counting towards your tiles revealed count.

One of the first things I did.  Any special details you can remember would help.

That's about all I do remember, I don't ever leave my maps revealed nowadays, it's just nicer that way.

Just to show that I did search

http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=17085.msg165259#msg165259
http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=775.msg9536#msg9536

are both relevant, but they go _against_ my current experience.

I've made a ton of items too, unless mugs and bone bolts don't count or something.
