I agree with you on every point but this one:

If you ever come to Bremerton, you will meet many "lower" forms of life.

I have been to Bremerton but I have also lived in Parkland and Sedroe-Woolley adn Mt. Vernon. The folks in Bremerton seem like the proverbial "master race" by comparison.

Wow, from games, to creationism vs. evolution, to eugenics. Damn, this is entertaining.

Speaking of eugenics, does anyone else see that it's a GOOD IDEA, if actually based in reality rather than racism? And of course if people aren't harmed because of it.

Hitler seems to have completely invalidated the concept of controlled evolution in everyone's view, along with the swastika symbol. *sigh*

I enjoy threads like this, it's what message boards are all about. Been reading Blake all this morning, taking a bit of a break.

Nope, that's a valid use of double quotation marks, as you were literally quoting me. Only for paraphrasing or indicating a word or idea that is not yours should the double be a single:
I'm not "hard on people", as some 'computer gamers' seem to suggest.
Of course anyone who would write a sentance like that seriously should be shot.
Now add commas to that and see how many different meanings you can come up with.  :D

As for eugenics and evolution, I find the idea that genetics have played any serious part in the changes to the human race in the
past couple of thousand years ridiculous. Society, technology and medicine define people now, and those are the only things that will 'evolve'.

Was I literally quoting you though?  I don't see the g word in your post, although maybe I'm just tired and it's there somewhere.  Not that I care about the rules.  Schools for fools.  Don't follow the rules.  Yeah.

In which case - bad Toady! Of course it's silly to be too strict in an informal environment like a message board, but it's therer for clarity more than anything else. How would you like it if I wrote 10 * 2 + 3 = 50 or some other incorrect or misleading mathmatical notation?  :)

Yeah, prescriptive grammar sux.  And my computer totally died, this time for good.  Well, it might be fixable but I don't know what one long beep followed by two short ones means for my card.  Anyway, I'm on my new laptop!  I just got ten minutes ago.

I don't mind the order of operations.  It's calling it "maths" that troubles me.  Well, not really.  Not as much as not having a number pad.  But there's a place to hook in a keyboard.  Hopefully that doesn't push the screen too far away.

I should have MSVC and email back shortly.  Unless it catches on fire, or someone kills me through this unfire-walled cable connection.

Phew, everything is in order.  Well, I'm getting a minor version of the Armok text bug other people were seeing.  Maybe I can solve it at some point.  The dwarves are happy on this computer.

The seven dwarves were in a hot tub all feeling happy. Then he left and they all started feeling grumpy.

PsychoX, this is true.  They certainly weren't feeling bashful.
