Improving abandoning
« on: March 24, 2009, 04:49:27 am »

Whenever we reclaim a fortress or visit a fortress in adventure mode, the entire landscape will be strewn with clothes and trinkets, as if the entire dwarven population stripped naked before abandoning, after which the fort was hit by a hurricane. We can also expect the hallways to be strewn with dead livestock.

I propose that all owned items be removed from the map, as well as all domestic animals. Goods should also be scattered about to a lesser extent than they are now.

Thief:"Quiet kitty, Qui-"
Cat:"THIEF! Protect the hoard from the skulking filth!"
The resulting party killed 20 dwarves, crippled 2 more and the remaining 9 managed to get along and have a nice party.

I completely agree with you.
I'd also like a number of sub options for abbandoning, mainly whether or not you simply give over leadership to the AI so the fort becomes an NPC mountainhome, or whether you abbandon the entire fort, taking everyone with you.

I really like the retire to AI idea....  even allow me to set up shops for adventure beforehand....
