Tired Merchant?
« on: March 21, 2009, 11:28:28 pm »

I have a really odd merchant, he enters my zone and takes forever to get to my depot. There's nothing in his path. So I go ahead and inspect him and he has no injuries hes perfectly health than I realize something... the bastard is crawling his way to my depot.

So go ahead and post weird things merchants have done in your forts.

'Spontaneously' Combusting Merchants, who knew that Merchants aren't fire-proof, and that it didn't notice the flaming bins that I so happened to not noticed that it was misplaced.

And then there was the time I 'accidentally' reoriented the ballistae that so happen to be sited nearby the Depot.

Oh, and the time the resident waterfall started spewing ballistae warheads.

Then the time I made an underwater catapult turret, and shot at many carp, who were in the river with a conveniently placed roadway nearby with an elven caravan also nearby , the elves aggro'ed.

When merchants arrive at the depot, the merchants drawing pack animals lay down to allow your dwarves easier access to the depot. This occurs whether or not they are actually physically in the depot itself, so it is possible that there are crawling merchants slowly making their way to your fortress.

And a new one, CAVE-INS!!!

Yeah, the arena gladiators escaped, due to that incident.

An entire merchant train that would insist on crossing straight through the bottom of my local lake to get to my fort, regardless of the fact that they would lose half their wagons every time.

Playing a cheesemaker in an average Fortress 'round here would be. Freaking. Terrifying.

My favorite was the time I had a caravan leave half its wagons and people at my depot when it left. A cave-in solved that little dilemma and they were back next year, none the worse for wear.
