Then you probably have some other problem with other modding.  Are you playing as dwarves?  Try adding just that creature to plain, vanilla DF from a redownload.

By showing up you mean the tile doesn't appear or the creature itself doesnt even come into existence?

If its that last one it might help to give it the
[BIOME:ANY_LAND]

Fixed!

Removed [LARGE_ROAMING] and [NO_WINTER]

Apparently one of those conflicts with [LARGE_PREDATOR]

Is it in a new .txt file?  If so, then you might be missing the name of the file at the top of the text.  That's what happened when I first tried making a new file for a modded in creature.

 I was under the idea that Avatar creatures were basically two creatures mixed together. That is, with the rare exception of 'normal' creatures.
