Heh. This reminds me of that college student that made some awesome video and asked people to donate a penny. He managed to fund half his college with it.

I wonder how he didn't lose money on transfer charges...

It's an LCS reference. You start off with a police seige, and then eventually, the police escalate by calling in the military, the tanks, and finally begin engaging in aerial bombings.

Sure, plenty of old people like your mom fall for phising, but for all you know, you could already be a victim of identity theft. They just laughed at your pathetic bank account and left you alone. ;)

Or they could have taken one penny from boatloads of bank accounts and you didn't notice. Those pennies add up, and since nobody cares about a lost penny, you could be rich without having to worry about the police knocking down the door and calling in the tanks.

I've seen fake redirected phising sites of places you don't really imagine to be hacked like some extremely obscure social networking sites catering to sadomasochistic furries (not that I ever visit those on a regular basis, oh no).
