WAITWAITWAIT

Have a big pit with 4/7 water at the bottom. Put it in with the goblins. Leave it.

Every year, sacrifice some dwarves to it. It can be your new god.

Tame it, then train it for double damage.

was a rather anti climactic megabeast. it came. walked to the side of my fort. i didnt think you could cage the bronze colossi. almost as bad as when i was attacked by a dragon....a dragon with no arms or legs that kept on passing out.

Holy cow! A real, working bronze colossus that didn't die during world-gen? How unheard of!

Build a secret underground chamber and seal it within with all the dwarfy security measures you can imagine. Then pretend your fortress has myths and legends of the sealed bronze colossus raging futilely underneath the mountain.

Just don't leave it untamed in a cage in your dining room for a tantruming dwarf to let out, only to kill most of your fort during a party.

So, I had a Titan in a cage, and I had a Dugeon Master I was hoping would tame him.

Until the Dungeon Master let him out.

He seemed a most untroublesome noble too.

Now I have a Titan in an ex-Dugeon Masters Grand Dining Room, and a small collection of cage traps...

My bronze colossus died during world gen...

So did the iron One I modded in...

As did the Steel one...

And even the Mithril one...

They were all killed by the Beserk Admantine Colossus... Turns out a Damblock of 52 is pretty high...

You see, booze is a parasite. It lives off dwarves and compels them to dig into the ground so as to create massive defences to protect it's self. It really shouldn't be called dwarf fortress, Booze fortress would make much more sense.

PROTIP: Stopping worldgen at year 1 usually prevents megabeast extinction at the cost of having fewer pointless pieces of elven history to look at.

heh, fill a pit with every single pet or tame animal in your entire fortress and throw the colossus in with them. my pit of 150 pets has chewed up everything i have thrown in there, including a titan. it was supposed to be a good and entertaining way for me to lower my framerate and deal with the catsplosion, but even the titan passed out from exhaustion after a month of kitten and puppy mashing, wherapon it was kicked to death by a horse foal.

bronze colossus has no problem with exhaustion. so it has a much better chance of winning. other options are to make it fight the HFS, or chain a small animal in a huge room, wait till a goblin siege is in there, close a drawbridge behind them then unleash the colossus. if you are feeling mean and you have artifact weapons you can make them the guardians of your treasure room and set the fort up for adventure mode. perhaps lock up a few champions to help you as an adventurer, taking one of those down by yourself would be hard.

also, to the guy with 2 collosi, you can do all of the above, only make it twice as awesome. also, find out if colossi will fight each other, and other megabeasts like dragons and titans. and post the videos.

but it seriously lessens the pop. levels of your civs.
at least it did when I tried.
