I meant that the need and want for a sandwich interrupts all higher thought at the time so you are in fact a slave to the sandwich as much as the human condition that made you slave to the sandwich, and there was no intelligent design involved in what I wanted you to get... but provided that  :( was real I think I'm done.

What is the point of pursuing free will, when instinct allows you to function successfully?
Because I want it from instinct, and even though it is self defeating, I am still compelled without my own decision to do so. You see why it frustrates me? I see my own strings.
I can't get no satisfaction 'cause I try and I try and I try...

the idea of "sandwich" was ruling my every action.

But what are you but a collection of sandwiches?  From sandwiches you came.  If you are ruled by sandwiches, you know no master but yourself.

But it does not make it a valid theory with scientific anything.
With the exact credentials used by all other theories about life not of our planet?

A more tightly wrapped restatement of what you quote is "But plausibility alone is not sufficient to consider a theory scientifically valid."

If you're referring to life on mars or elsewhere in the universe, scientific predictions of these things are inductive predictions based on what we believe we know about evolution and astronomy. They are theories in the simple sense that someone is theorizing, but not in the more precise sense in which Evolution and Intelligent Design are theoretical explanations of observed phenomena. Evolution and ID are expected to make predictions; life on mars or life in the universe are predictions.

If you all really want to I'll make another thread for ID.

That would be pretty cool, actually.  If you can keep calm and leave out all the stuff about "man defying nature and embracing defeat" and "you make very reliable toys", we could probably have a rational and productive discussion about this stuff.  Unfortunately, I believe that the current topic is irretrievably contaminated already.  This topic isn't in Various Nonsense, but it definitely belongs there at this point.  I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything about everything and if there's a good scientific or logical justification for ID, I'd like to learn about it.

However, you're not going to educate anybody when half of your topic is about ID not being given a fair hearing and half of it is about how we took the bait.  I read every word in every post that you made in this topic, and, quite frankly, you come off as a little, well, incoherent.  Despite the fact that you're clearly trying to make a point, it gets lost in the emotional stuff.  I've seen more coherent and less emotional arguments for the theory that "the Jews did 9/11".

I've been considering posting a "Two Minutes' Hate" topic for rants, but I haven't been able to decide whether it should go in General Discussion or Various Nonsense.
