oh im impressed with the overfilling murky pools, i didnt know they would fill beyond their one z level. thats such a good idea for really dry climates where it evaporates seasonally.

here is a multi shot cave in thing i used to take great pleasure in using in my very early forts. you are looking at this from the side -

i lock a dwarf in a room with a row of levers, and have him pull them as the invaders go underneath to dissasemble the lowest support, dropping the lowest level of floor on their heads. can repeat as often as i desire. used it once next to a chasm to take out the HFS and the cavein dust swept most of them away into the depths. i normally have a row of grates or a bridge along one side of the shaft so i can easily rebuild the floor, you just have to be careful while reassembling as grates and bridges dont support buildings. also, you cant have anything dug out underneath the cavein point otherwise the falling stone just crashes right through. so dont build this above your forts main stairwell, or the entire middle of your fort will get a great big hole through it.
