Fire Imps and goblins
« on: February 19, 2009, 07:07:49 pm »

Hi, I was hoping to make a torture room using a fire imp/flamethrower against some certain goblin ambushers. However, the imp and goblin don't seem to react negatively. Is there a way to change this? Thanks.

Make sure that the fire imp can path to the goblins. It won't shoot fire otherwise. My suggestion would be something like

Code: [Select]
#####
# X #
# # #
# # #
# # #
#^# #
#i|g#
#####

so that the imp will fire, then run towards the goblin, triggering the pressure plate and closing the floodgate. Alternately, have a cage trap in there too for fire imp recovery.

Originally I had a floodgate but just to test it I tried having just a regular flood inbetween them. All they did was walk about. Are fire imps only aggressive towards things classed as "friendly"?

I've heard enough stories of wild fire imps setting the map on fire due to kobolds and other wild animals that it would surprise me if they were only hostile to you.
