Artifact soap?
« on: February 18, 2009, 06:05:34 pm »

My glassmaker/dyer has gone fey -- but he's sitting in my dining hall. I have one of every workshop but a fishery and a alchemist's workshop, I just built the bower's shop but he didn't go for it.

I've got the other glassmaker about to work on the 3 clear vials for the alchemist's (once he gets his lazy ass off break) but I've never made soap before. I've got tallow around, and can butcher something for fat, what else will this guy need if he wants to make a bar of soap?

If he doesn't go for the alchemist's shop, I'll be SO confused. Even weirder cos he doesn't even have dabbling skills in anything other than dying/glassmaking and the social skills.

You have both types of glass furnaces, right? They sometimes go for the regular furnace over the magma furnace.

Also, draft that lazy glassmaker, and then undraft him. That will get him off break. He'll grumble about being drafted, but saving a moody dwarf is more imporant then a grumbling dwarf.

craftsworkshop.
Highest craft skill determines where they go and as he does not have any craft skills he goes to the workshop.
though It's not even necessary for them to be dabbling, as long as they've made a single goods it will count.
But you'll need dfcompanion to see the actual experience numbers.

=O he wanted the non-magma glass furnace -- and then raw green glass and tanned hides! I made him some puppy hides...

No, the moody dwarf does have a craft skill - he's a glassmaker, like the OP said.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Artifact soap, that would be crazy.

It cleans things so vigorously that dirt is knocked away from the surface and explodes in gore 20 tiles away.

It exfoliates goblins beautifully. Just wave it at them and all that dirty skin is torn right off, leaving nice clean muscle and bone. Its a good thing.

Queen of Suffering, Martha Stewart, approves of this message.
