What... A coexistence of dwarfs, goblins and elfs...?

I didn't know that was possible.  I just stated a map on an obsidian fortress covered map.  There and elfs goblins and dwarfs all living there peacefully...

Is that even possible...?

whenever you start on a town/fort, everyone there is friendly, and im guessing the dwarves and elves are children the goblins snatched

There are a lot more dwarfs than elfs or goblins.

It happens a lot. Goblins seem to snatch way too many children, and their forts sometimes end up with like 2 goblins in them.
