I love this game and the changes to make it 3d are awesome.  I really miss the old 2d map however for it's ease of play starting a new fortress just to mess around.  Is there somewhere I can find a pre-made map that resembles the old 2d one.  Something like:

Forest -> river -> grass -> steep cliff -> Underground river -> Magma river -> chasm -> Adamantine

It's probably near-impossible to find a map with all the things in that order, especially as stuff like adamantine are usually several levels underground.
However, you can quite easily get maps with all of these features on, and you should use one of these. Don't be afraid of z-levels - you'll never learn how to use them if you keep hiding away from them!

Deathworks might be able to help you out here! There would be a very small chance of finding such a place, but it wouldn't be impossible, and would be VERY valuable to a lot of players.

my current fortress got all that except chasm, forest and river but my recently fortress i took a break from had everything that you said but i dont know how to find the seed once its created.
