Hiya all,

Sorry to ask about something that already has loads of posts and a wiki article.  I have read loads of posts on here and also the wiki article but I still don't understand.  I only want the ramp to go from the surface to one level below for the trade caravans to reach my underground depot.

Heres a picture of the surface with the ramp going down.



And here is picture of the below level with the ramp going up.



Here is a pic of the Depot access feature



That read 3x3 block in the middle of all the green W's is my surface ramp area.  The floor below with the depot on has green W's even over the ramp.  So it seems that it's the surface ramp area that's causing the problem but I just cant get my head around it

Try it with just one set of ramps down instead of three sets.I always have a landing after each set and it seems to work fine.

 Alas, the tiles directly above ramps are considered open space and is thus inaccessible. However, due to the nature of ramps you are teleported to the bottom level. Don't aorry too much about it. If there is a green line from the Depot to the edge of the map, you are fine no matter what anything else says.

 Also note, the center ramp is somewhat useless. Ramps are a bit different from stairs. They only provide vertical movement in the direction of the closest wall/floor above. I dunno, they are tricky.

just make 3 tiles of ramp. that big block of ramps doesn't mean one 3x3 gradient, it means a bunch of little ramps going everywhichway

I think this is the proper use. This means things on the top level can do down from the North, and things on the lower level can come up from the South.
