[40d] Unconscious dragon at edge of map
« on: February 22, 2009, 02:15:56 am »

My first dragon arrived but it was instantly unconscious, and after checking the wounds page it appeared to have no nose or tail (dark grey wounds) It just sat there, stunned or unconscious until one Dwarf walked out to hammer it to death.

An enemy Dwarf in a siege just appeared to be missing his shoulder, right arm, right fingers etc and did the same thing.

When they showed up there were no other creatures around, and no Dwarves nearby.

edit - The terrain at the edge of the map is flat grass and trees.

Hi!

That is a known consequence of the current design. Besides getting killed, creatures can receive wounds during world generation (they are mentioned in the combat results in legends mode). Those wounds are still there when you encounter the creatures in fortress or adventure mode, and in some cases, they are so serious that they incapacitate the creature.

Ah, thank you! Hopefully my next dragon will manage to avoid losing it's nose on the way here.
