stuttering

 I've never had any problems before but now my game seems to stutter.Seen it slow down,with say
 130 dwarfs.but the stuttering just drives me nuts.given i got a map with magma vent,underground
 river but the fps never drop very low it just stutters.also i dug an outline of my fort so there pathing
 threw narrow corridors.anybody else have this problem?

I've been noticing stuttering in my current fort, but I suspect it has something to do with the 60 z-levels and the chasm, as it usually only stutters when I am looking at things outside on the mountain slope.

Another cause of stuttering is large lots of jobs being generated at once; for example, if you mass designate objects for dumping, all of your idle dwarfs will get the job at once, and they'll all want to pathfind at once. This will cause a noticeable slowdown.
