That would be an awesome game, none the less.
Several starting points, from being a disillusioned white-collar worker who wants to shake the world, to the poor Afghani boy whose father was killed by the Americans.
It'd be epic if done right. From picking up your first gun, to demanding ransom from the UN.
I've been thinking about this. I doubt I'll get any approval from Johnatan S. Fox to attempt to modify the LCS game to support a 'realistic view', because it may very well promote insurgencies. However, here's some things that I could see:
1) No consitutional amendment that will end the game. Even if the general public embraces C+ ideals, the resistance will still continue, altough its days would be likely be numbered.
2) Different forms of Governments need to be modeled. A military dictator will likely rule by decree and any elections would be rigged, altough public opinon will likely play a role in changing views, and an unpopular dictator may be forced to hand over power to a democracy.
3) Sleepers need to be nerfed, heavily. This isn't
A Force More Powerful here.
4) You cannot brainwash the enemy. Instead, you can interrogate them to get a map of an area, and hold them hostage for either the release of a person in jail or for money.
5) Committing crimes no longer affect the Issues as much as it would in a vanilla LCS game.
Shutting down buildings on the other hand...
6) The power of lawyers need to be nerfed.
7) Victory conditions are very different. For example, the poor Afghani boy whose father was killed by the Americans only want the Americans to get out. All he has to do is cause enough violence and mayhem that the Americans themselves decide to declare victory and get out. The poor Afghani boy wins.
However, the generic radical terror group in Afghanistan wants to take over Afghanistan. Kicking the Americans out is a noble goal, but it's merely a means to an end. They have to not only convince the Americans to cut and run, but they have to convince (or coerce) the general population to agree with their own views and destroy once and for all the rival warlords. The terror group's mission is much harder than the Afghani boy's mission.
The disgruntled white-collar worker wants to have his voice be heard. Depending on how extreme the white-collar worker is, he may desire to overthrow the entire government, or he may simply be seeking a seat at the political table. If the latter, then his goal is to force the government to agree to a power-sharing agreement, with the disgruntled white-collar worker.
This is a wish list, so I don't expect everything here to be possible to implemented.
