Apparently it runs well but depending on the game, can get quite slow. It'll be nice if there's a good working PS2 emulator so that we can... uhh... run Linux on it.

I mean, the only reason I'm asking this question is so that I can run linux on an emulator for a gaming system, of course. There's no other reason. Why would there be? It's not like I'm considering trying to install MacOSX on it or anything.. ha ha ha ha... ha...

Anyway, anyone tried it yet?

PCSX2 works great, once you figure out it's ins and outs, what plugins and settings to use, etc.

Really not worth using in anything BUT Windows Vista sadly, as DirectX 10 gives it it's best speed :/ Also, completely unplayable on a single core processor.

I would think so, given that the PS2 has a dual core 64 bit processor.

It's more along the lines of "running better using something that is only available in Vista."

I'd love to get it, but I'm down and out on two counts - single-core PC running XP. I doubt enabling hyperthreading on this beast would help matters any.

Hey, my video card is DX10 capable. I guess I could download the free copy of Vista available through my school's MSDN thingamajig and just wait to use it until I get a better computer.

Hah! The business school here has that too. Hehe... too bad my video card is 3 years old. I do run a dual core XP though.
