Well, I know theres a coop mod for doom 3, but as I said in the first post, I'd rather not play another fps. Tbh, if you played one of them coop, the experience for the rest out there is rather similar.
also, system shock 2 coop mod. beats everything horror-coloured
Mind you... I said "Hyped" not "Bad"... Frankly I like Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo... (I like Vikings... but I was never all THAT good... but then again the game IS evil... so take that as you will)
Yup, thats what I meant. The games are decent, maybe good. But not "great" at all. I mean, most of those games are just ripoffs of other stuff, with some bells and whistles and have been ripped off again by other folks.
And just to pick out diablo, I think its a nice example: we all played it, we all enjoyed it. But there are tons of clones of that clone that are better.
But "lost vikings" on the other hand... that struck me like lightning. I had never played a game like this before. I mean, I was a lot younger, maybe I'd think different today, but the way I remember it, the puzzles were great. the vikings were adorable (omg how olaf picked his nose!). You could say they took lemmings (which was creative when it came out: nobody saw a game like that before) and mixed it up with a generic jump 'n' run. But the way they pulled it off could definetly be described as "creating something new". I mean, just imagine, your boss says "Make us a game thats like super mario and lemmings in one". I can totally see that going wrong
But they pulled it off and even got coop mode in. And coop mode, as forgotten as it is, should be one of the core elements of videogaming. I could write a whole essay about why and how. But I cba. Coop mode is very important, lets just leave it at that
