1)  There is really no good reason for this thread to exist, let alone exist here.

Yeah, making a thread for the sole purpose of leading people to another thread is how to get the thread doing the leading deleted.  I did that intentionally when I posted the LEGO mod thread in general discussion by accident and had to change it to "ignore this thread."
