I remember one particular fortress where all my sieges would come right before or right after I traded with the elves. After the second or third time that the goblins came with the elves, I became suspicious. Was it really just coincidence that this happend? Of course not. It was obvious the elves and the goblins were working together to bring down the fortress! The prospect of trading would make my dwarves expose themselves to the goblins because they were going outside and the elves have hated me ever since I started my deforestation project. They were in league!


So I took the most reasonable course of action available at the time. When the elves arrived next year at my trade depot I had them walled in. Then once they were in a violent delirium (perhaps brought on by not being able to see any trees from their prison) I fortified one of the walls and had by crossbow dwarves terminate them. 

I never had another elf come to my fortress. The goblins kept laying siege on me though...maybe the elves were still passing on information to them. MAYBE I HAD A MOLE IN MY FORTRESS! I should of had an inquisition...
