Sorry, I hope this goes in bugs.

I'm playing the latest version of DF on a Leopard. It's portable, so there's no numpad.

I'm attempting to prepare for my first journey, but can't seem to buy or sell items or allot skill points for my starting party.  I tried pressing -, +, <, >, [, ], and each of those with the shift and with the function key. (at least I think I did.)  Nothing happens.  Does anyone know what I should be pressing here?
