Probably still a long way off, but I thought it might be interesting to think about fun ideas for standard recipes.

Here's one: we have cave fish and lye, why not have Dwarven Lutefisk?

Huzzah! I love lutefisk!   :)

I think dwarves should eat porridge. Lots and lots of porridge. I wonder what ingredients of the ones we have might be good for porridge though? Maybe you can mash mushrooms into pulp and make porridge out of it?

It would be really interesting if dwarf porridge, when beaten flat and dried became paper... That'd be a powerful statement about just how hardcore dwarves are!

I remember a discussion about alternate beds a ways back, where someone suggested that hammocks be an elven recipe.

Naturally, recipes wouldn't be given out to just anyone, so you'd have to have good relations with other races in order to trade for the recipe, or find someone who owns it or uses it and 'extract' it from them.  There would be a dozen more mechanics involved if recipes were introduced...  Not a bad thing, other than it means they're a long ways off, as mentioned.

You can put just about any grain in porridge.
