Name: Dastot(Dwarven for sword)
Job: novice weaponsmith/proficient liar

If you don't want to give others social skills(because of the risk that they'll become mayor instead of urist) Just make that proficient swimming, then.
Do you mind if i divide the points from liar/swimmer into swordsdwarf/furnace operator or such?

I'll take whatever is left.  Which at this point I think is carpentry.
I'll give him normal skills in woodcutting/carpentry then.

Hey man, when you get immigrants can i get a siege engineer/siege operator/mechanic called Ubique? either gender is fine, and a bit of military service never did a dwarf any harm (excluding all the times where a dwarf was harmed by being in the military e.g. sparring)
The first engineer to arrive is yours.

Anywho, adding.

Edit: I'm gonna have to trash the anvil to be able to afford all skills and some other various stuff. Ah well.

I'll take a novice wrestler/axedwarf named Lerke (gender doesn't matter too much, but I'd prefer male).  Dedicated Military please.

Is there any wildlife here?

If there is, I'd like a hunter.  If not, a Smelter or Engraver.

Have him learn Architecture, in any case.

In case he ends up drafted, make him a wrestler(Does two-weapon fighting work with fists?), though he'd prefer to remain out of the military, and instead be the foreman behind your megaconstructions.

Yes, actually, I am trying to get myself banned.  I wish Toady would quit working on this worthless piece of junk and go back to teaching math.

New dwarves can still be requested in anticipation of a migrant wave.

Thought that was a given.

And I suppose the tendency I have to completely ignore a dwarf's migrant skills and wholesale replace him with what I need/want at the time is a bit odd.  Soapmaker, peasant, miner, and smelter, they're all the same to me as migrants.

Finally i'm writing the darn thing. Procrastination is a harsh mistress.

Urist was angry. Apparently last night he had gambled away his title as "expedition leader" to that darn Dastot. Curse him! We're dwarves, we shouldn't take advantage of each other being drunk! HE got to be the expedition leader while Urist was stuck with the whole business of updating the stock records, handle trade and manage production orders. But it was DASTOT who got the glory from here now on. But, he decided to do what his dad always did. "Take it like a dwarf".

((Yeah, due to Dastot's Proficient Liar HE became expedition leader instead. :( I changed the other noble positions so Urist still handles everything else though.))

The party of seven reached the site: A point in the desert where the red, yellow and black sand met. This would be the spot to dig down. Urist reached for his pick and cried the old dwarven cheer:

"Strike the earth!"

Oh no, Procrastination is a wonderful mistress.  It's when your wife catches you afterwards that you have to watch out for!  :P

Heh. I warned you that could happen. Oh well, maybe Urist will get elected in the future?
