thirsy dwarves surronded by booze

on almost every dwarf i see it has "complained of thirst lately",yet i have over 3000 brew. they only seem to go get some AFTER they complain.... what do i do?

I've noticed that if a dwarf is substantially away from a booze stockpile it will take him some time to stop what he is doing and actually walk to it. If he gets the thirsty tag while walking to it (eg its really far away) it will give him the negative thought. Try doing a few small sub booze piles around your fortress that draw booze from the main one. See if that helps your situation any
