[40d] Can't move, Handling Large Creature

This pretty much says it all.  I had a random worker suddenly start canceling tasks because she was "Handling dangerous creature", and then cancel "Handling Large Creature" because it was inaccessible.  Turning off animal hauling for the individual in question had no effect.  Drafting her caused her to stop attempting other tasks, but she continued constantly canceling the large creature job.  She's standing motionless on dry ground, next to a ramp submerged in water.

This game uses raws that have a few added civilizations and creatures, and some strange weapons.  The fortress is located around a spiderman town.  There's an active 'cage large creature' job, but someone else is doing it, without apparent difficulty.  There doesn't appear to be anything but other dwarves near the one who's stuck.  I can't think of anything else that might be relevant, at the moment.

Is there anybody swimming down in the water on the below?  Animal or otherwise?  If there's nobody adjacent to the dwarf in question, the the leader-led relationships are screwed up somehow, rather than just some kind of garden variety message spam bug.

Actually, there was a kitten a ways downstream that I hadn't noticed.  I cut off the water flow to that channel, the kitten worked its way to the dwarf, and that appears to have cleared things up.  So I guess it's just a matter of someone getting stuck on a task they couldn't complete.
