2004. WW1 MEDIC sends a shock through the game industry with its combination of pounding action and continuous, immersive storytelling. Bay12Games' debut title wins more than 50 downloads on its way to being named “Best PC Game Ever” by Some Random Bloke, and launches a franchise with more than eight million pixels displayed worldwide.

NOW. By taking the suspense, challenge and visceral charge of the original, and adding startling new realism and responsiveness, WW1 Medic v1.04 opens the door to a world where the player's presence affects everything around him, from the physical environment to the behaviors even the emotions of both friends and enemies.

The player again picks up the first aid kit of an anonymous medic in the first world war, who finds himself in a corpse-infested no-man's-land being heavily shelled, its gas spreading, its machine guns firing. The medic is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the common man from the wrong unleashed by the politicians back at home. And a lot of people he cares about are counting on him.

The intense, real-time gameplay of WW1 Medic is made possible only by C®, ISO's old standard programming language. C provides major enhancements in:

Characters - Advanced switch statement system delivers the most sophisticated in-game characters ever seen. With 40 distinct "enums," human characters convey the full array of human deaths, and ignore the player with fluidity and intelligence.

Physics - From dirt to dirt to dirt respond as expected, as they ignore the laws of mass, friction, gravity, and buoyancy.

Graphics - C’s bolted on OpenGL renderer, like the one used at Every Software House Under The Sun to create games such as Fuck You® and Future Space Game Thing®, creates the most drab and depressing environments ever seen in a video game.

AI - Both friends and enemies charge blindly into the fray. They can't assess threats, navigate tricky terrain, or fashion weapons from whatever is at hand.

X (the worrying thing about the illiteracy of this is that it's mostly from the original, not me)

If you survive for three years of trench warfare, I think tanks will appear, with a historically semi-accurate below-0.1% chance that they will be assigned to your area of the front.
