Don't forget to check for extra usb cables attached to your computer- you could have someone with an extra mouse trying to mess with your head.

I managed to get someone convinced that they had a possessed computer.

what a great inference, i barely even touch'em.

the problem keeps coming back though, and the cpr treatment needs to be repeated, so i'm not sure how much frickin' dust must be in their or what it's doing, but it's annoying.

Hehe yeah...I was an FPS addict back to the CoD1 days, and I wasted a couple of mouses...er mouse buttons.  ;D
If cleaning the mouse button won't solve the problem, you will have to buy a new mouse. My current mouse is pretty good and comfortable. It is a MS/Razer HABU. [Razer tech and MS "body".]  It's also excellent for FPS gaming even, because of the decent 2000dpi laser.
If you want to buy a very durable and excellent mouse, you should consider buying a HABU. You won't be disappointed.  :)

What the hell do they mean ergonomic design?

Fits your hand. In this case, I think they mean that extra sticking-out bit for the right side of the hand to rest on. Those things can be dang comfy for extrended playing.

I once did something similar with a fancy-arse RF remote and my Grandpa.

Yep exactly. This is one of the most "comfortable" mouses what I've ever seen. Ususally I am not a big MS fan, but this design is damn good...and don't forget about the razer laser tech.  :)
