At least you get artefacts out of your strange moods! All that happens to me is a dwarf either needs a workshop I don't have or claims one that's really important, then he asks for stuff I can't get and he ends up going berserk.

I once had a jeweler possessed that stood on a rock by the lake outside my fortress my second season. Until he randomly went insane and charged the gates right as my hunter was walking out the door, who started firing as soon as he was in range. He took a shot to the heart and bled to death shortly thereafter. (I buried him under the rock)
