If Icewind Dale 1 had Icewind Dale 2's engine and ruleset, it would have been unimaginably good...

The storyline and overall "feel" of #2 just doesn't do #1 justice..

Indeed. All I remember from it was I killing things. I remember clearly the storyline of both Baldur's Gate and Planescape:Torment though  :)

I played it on GameTap, got to the Remorhaz Queen and then got grounded for two weeks, by the time I was back on the computer, I had lost interest.  If only I knew I'd never play again...

That thing is bloody hilarious! One of Pip's summoned berzerkers cries out during the battle, "Look at me, I'm a crazy frothing berzerker!". Simply pure epic!
