Restarting a location
« on: November 16, 2008, 10:33:47 am »

Hi all

I found this amazing location but have since really screwed it up.  Is there anyway to restart it fresh, like how I found it?

I remember that there is a way to get world gen info.

The rest has to be done manually.

Abandon you fort, and use reclaim to help yourself get the general idea of where to find it.

Abandon fort.  Start a new game in legends mode.  There'll be an option to export the seed and worldgen information.

Copy the info to the data\init\world_gen.txt file.  Restart DF.  "Create New World".  It should generate the exact same world you had before.

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.

Embarkanywhere alows to embark in the same area without reclaim of the old fort cause embark anywhere convinces DF to create an new fortfile.
